Employment Open House

The London District Catholic School Board (LDCSB) is seeking 600 new employees in multiple roles and professions as student enrollment continues to grow. An in-person Open House for prospective employees will be held:

November 16, 2-5 pm

LDCSB Board Office

5200 Wellington Road South, London

A virtual open house will held at a later date (details to be determined).

The number of students in LDCSB schools has increased from 19,000 to more than 23,000 in the past five years – the equivalent of a large elementary school every year.

Increased enrollment combined with retirements has created opportunities in multiple areas. The LDCSB is currently seeking roughly 600 staff in the following areas:

300: Occasional Teachers (must be Catholic)

100: Casual Educational Assistants

75: Temporary Classroom Support Personnel (emergency supply)

25: Casual Early Childhood Educators

10-20 each: Casual Custodians, Librarians, Secretaries, Chaplaincy Leaders, Noon-Hour Assistants

5-10: School Principals and Vice Principals (must be Catholic)

It's common for new staff to start out on an occasional/causal basis before transitioning to full-time status. While this process used to take many years, the new reality is that many occasional staff can be working full-time within a year.

“It is a great time to want to get into our school board,” said Vince Romeo, Director of Education. “For many years, there wasn’t an abundance of new full-time jobs. We now have opportunities that haven’t existed for nearly a decade. Whether you are looking for full-time work or just want to work a few days a month, we probably have an opportunity for you. We invite everyone who wants to apply or has questions to come to our open house.”

NOTE: If you are not fully vaccinated (you received your second dose more than 14 days ago), please DO NOT attend in person at the Catholic Education Centre. You may instead attend the virtual job fair which is an option on the registration form.

Details available at LDCSB.ca under Careers. Those interested are asked to pre-register.
